About this Item

First edition, first printing. With dustwrapper. Publisher's original light green cloth with dark red titles to the spine. 212 pages, unillustrated, with the contents mostly clean throughout (includes two small annotations in black ink on pages 83 and 88 respectively) and a small inscription from the original owner included in blue ink on the inside cover end paper. A better than very good copy for its age, the binding firm and slightly cocked, with the rose tint to the top edge still bold. The cloth shows mild signs of sunning along the cover edges and to the spine, with light rubbing to the spine edges, but otherwise without loss or tears. Complete with original dustwrapper by Michael Kennard, showing mild loss across the top edge and bottom of spine. For preservation and strengthening purposes, the dustwrapper is backed by a sheet of white paper (removable). A worthy addition to your Orwell collection.
