Octavo, full leather, with leather spine label laid in, at some point (ca 19th century) a new gilt decorated spine was added, keeping the earlier leather boards. Anti-theater pamphlet critiquing the restoration-era stage (288 pages) with a response to subsequent critiques (139 pages). At some point (ca 19th century) a new spine was added keeping the earlier leather boards. Very good, light wear to leather. third edition of A Short View and a first edition of A Defence of the Short View.
