His photographs are unsurpassed, perhaps he learned to take them from Mr Hoffman (of Johnston and Hoffman), owner of one of the earliest professional photographer`s studios in India, with whom he travelled in Sikkim in the 1880ies. Eventhough White was participant of Younghusband Tibet Mission in 1904 (during which White took also spectacular photos), this is not described in here, but all his travels in Sikkim and Bhutan, i.a. for the investiture of the first king as KCSI - becoming Sir Ugyen.
