First published in Spain in 1985, this first UK English edition is translated from the Spanish by Concilia Hayter. A story of unrequited love set in an Andalusian village, this second novel of Morales' became her best known work. I just checked its entry on Amazon, and I can't help but quote part of the description: "two women meet and embark on an exploration of the mysterious parallel stratum, of being where heightened emotional patterns work themselves out." What on earth does that even mean? A near fine copy in near fine dust jacket with artwork by Renate Belina. I don't see that there was ever a US edition. MC. Seller Inventory # 002975
