This is the 1st State of the 1st U.S. printing with the following points intact as required by Hammond and Anderson (A15), notably the misprints on pages 330 and 352 that were corrected in a later impressions. (1) no period after Feanor on p.330, line 4; (2) the word "and" between "Lord of Waters and King of the Sea" is in italics on p.352, line 39. The printing history is as follows: the True 1st is the unpriced export edition, followed by the priced UK Edition and the priced US edition. Includes a number of shorter works besides The Silmarillion, Genealogies, The Sundering of the Elves, Note on Pronunciation, Index of Names, Appendix, Elements in Quenya and Sindarin names plus a color map of the Realms of the Noldor and the Sindar. Near Fine with previous owner's name on front endpaper in a Very Good price-clipped dust jacket that has a couple of small chips at the spine extremities and some light creasing along the top and bottom.
