True first edition first printing of Silverstein's classic in original dust jacket. The book has a four line statement on the copyright page without an isbn which indicates a first printing. The book is clean and tight with no markings and just some lightly bumped corners. The original dust jacket has a number of issue points of the first edition including the smaller author photo to rear panel, 3 reviews of his previous title Lafcadio to rear flap, front flap with 0964 but showing a price of $3.95 to the upper corner so likely a 2nd or 3rd state of the first dust jacket which originally was priced at $2.50. The jacket has a couple mostly closed short tears, a touch of fading to spine, clipped to bottom of front flap as is common, tip of top corner of front flap also cut but still showing the $3.95 price intact. Uncommon in this condition.
