VG+ / VG. 1st Printing of the 1964 John Calder 1st Edition thus, prose translated by Hellmuth Weissenborn and Lesley MacDonald, poetry translated by David Rodger, and with introduction and illustrations by Weissenborn. Text pages are noted to be light lilac toned. Book is straight square, securely bound and, except for faint residue from shelving dust along top edge, free of markings and other blemishes. Cover is clean and bright, with sharp, lightly rubbed corners, gently bumped and rubbed joints, headcap and tail, straight spine, hinges and edges, and boldly legible, crisply distinct lettering and design. Dust Jacket is clipped at bottom corner of front flap, encased in protective mylar and mildly age toned / faded (most noticeable along backstrip), with some minor rubbing or chipping at corners, edges, joints, head and tail and curling along tops of flaps - none of which impair legibility of lettering or clarity of design ad artwork.
