Size Matters: Effective Graphic Design for Large Amounts of Information

A like new hardback copy. 1st edition 1st printing, published in English by Rotavision Switzerland, 2004. Like new but no dust jacket (it may never have had one). Size Matters tackles the challenges that designers face when organizing large amounts of information. Projects such as company reports, magazine and book design, exhibitions, catalogues, timetables and directories all invoke particular design questions that must be resolved. This book will inspire designers to take on large projects with confidence-- chapters explore navigation and hierarchies, placement of images for overall rhythm of viewing, management of volume of material and systems for processing it, as well as the physical considerations of format: whether this is the information architecture of the web, placement of exhibition stands or print limitations in book design. Using illustrated essays, real-world examples, pull-out interviews with leading design figures and extended captions, Size Matters allows for first-hand experiences and detailed practical specifics, providing the reader with the skills, inspiration, and knowledge to succeed with projects that can at first seem daunting.
