A British jockey seems to have disappeared with the day's takings from the turnstiles, and it is Cleveland's responsibility to see if he can track him down.Dick Francis (1920-2010), or Richard Stanley Francis, was a British steeplechase jockey and crime writer. All of his novels focused upon horse racing in England, usually with a main character who happens to be a jockey. Francis was the jockey to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1956, almost winning the Grand National.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minimal bumping to the tail of spine and just a few marks along the front joints. Dust wrapper is excellent, with minimal edge wear and light age-toning to the top edge of the fly leaves and reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine.
