Small 8vo. 346 pages. Red cloth boards; gilt titles on front board and spine; vignette of snaffle bit on front board. Gilt top edge to text block. Decorative endpapers. 12 black and white plates (including frontispiece) from drawings by Harry Dixon. Publisher's catalogue at rear. Publisher's compliment slip with message "sent by request of the author" loosely inserted. Boards lightly rubbed; with scattered small marks and stains; corners bumped; ends of spine crushed. A little foxing to title page and frontispiece tissue guard; otherwise pages almost entirely clean. Front hinge tender; gutters cracked in places.
