Publisher's compliment slip with message "sent by request of the author" loosely inserted. Boards lightly rubbed; with scattered small marks and stains; corners bumped; ends of spine crushed. A little foxing to title page and frontispiece tissue guard; otherwise pages almost entirely clean. Front hinge tender; gutters cracked in places.
