The Personal Regimental Library of Major H. C. Roberts, 11th Hussars (PAO) - A Three-Volume Uniformly Bound Association Set (Western Desert / Trans-Jordan / Malaya); The Personal Regimental Library of Major H. C. Roberts, 11th Hussars (PAO) - A Superb Three-Volume Uniformly Bound Association Set (Western Desert / Trans-Jordan / Malaya). This uniform three-volume set is beautifully presented in a bespoke, high-end half-leather binding-crimson boards with caramel calf spines, four raised bands, and red title pieces-intentionally designed to mirror the historic "Cherrypickers" crimson livery of the regiment. Two of the volumes feature Major Roberts' personal ownership signatures, complete with unit designations and locations that map perfectly onto his documented World War II and post-war service career: 1. The Eleventh at War (1952, 1st Ed/1st Pr) : Dudley Clarke's definitive regimental history. Unsigned, serving as the clean library anchor for the set. Very Good. 2. The Desert Rats (1955 Pt) : Signed and inscribed: "Major H. C. Roberts, 11th Hussars (PAO) , Malaya 1956." This placement firmly anchors Roberts to the regiment's active anti-guerrilla operations during the Malayan Emergency. Very Good.3. A Soldier with the Arabs (1957, 1st Ed/1st Pr) : Signed and inscribed with his attachment to the "Trans-Jordan Frontier Force." This inscription perfectly validates official 1941 Tobruk war diaries, which note Lieutenant Roberts' impending transfer to the TJFF. Clean text block, inner hinges reinforced with matching red tape. Good to Very Good. Very Good No dust jacket as issued.…
