Covers have some scuffing, and front cover has some stains along side edge. Spine is slightly cocked. The maps on the endpapers have an error for the scale, the author included a paper stating that the scale should be 28 miles to the inch and not 15. Also included is a newspaper article from 1929 about the author, 15 at the time, and his new book, Your Soldier Boy Samuel. The subject was his grandfather.
