Item description from seller

Boston: Printed by J.T. Buckingham, 1841. First edition. Original printed wrappers, 14 pp. An interesting tracing of the symbolism of spring ceremonies from pagan peoples through New England's founding fathers, both of whom were correct in celebrating the planting season with tears and fears rather than hope and joy. Also commenting on the sudden death of president William Henry Harrison, which had occurred a few days previous. Moderate foxing, else Fine.
