A review panel noted Song of Solomon led to Morrison winning the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993 and it also won her the National Book Critics Circle Award for its authentic portrayal of a black male protagonist navigating a post-slavery America. The book spans several generations and examines the roles of African Americans in relation to white mainstream society as well as other complex family dynamics. The novel has faced several bans in schools throughout the U.S. since 1993 for its language and suggestive scenes. Dust jacket is clean and features the iconic yellow cover with wings. Overall, in very good condition.
