Large format hardcover, no dustjacket, first printing as indicated by the publisher's logo on copyright page, this copy has several flaws: staining to the front cover which is visible when holding the book at an angle under bright light, the blank rear end-paper has been removed, a few of the many small black and white drawings that accompany the songs have been very neatly colored, and a few small damp-marks are present, one at the top of the front cover and on the inside covers, the binding is secure and the contents are in nice shape, a unique companion volume to the books in the "Rivers of America" series.
