RAINER MARIA RILKE SONNETS TO ORPHEUS 1942 1ST EDITION HC DJ VERY GOOD CONDITION. Please find for your consideration a very nice copy of Rainer Maria Rilke s Sonnets to Orpheus . This small hard cover book (6 x 9 inches 160 pages) was published by W.W. Norton & Co. dated 1942 and the First Edition (so stated). The book was translated from the original German by M.D. Herter Norton and the German text faces the English translation across each page. This book is bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some edge wear particularly along the top edge and its spine is quite faded from the sun and now barely legible. The hard covers are clean and very presentable but a bit dust-affected. Inside a former owner has left her name and date on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages are clean and bright and without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

This seller is mother tongue English speaker but can understand and respond in Spanish (fluent), French (good) and Italian (fair) having lived in countries where these languages are spoken.
Within the United States, Media Mail thru the U.S. Postal System will be the default shipping method. Buyers may specify that they wish to use an alternative method, such as Priority Mail.
