The work was especially successful in America, where it was renamed 'Prancing Nigger' at the suggestion of the publisher. The work of innovative British novelist Ronald Firbank. Significantly inspired by Oscar Wilde, Firbank's novels consisted largely of dialogue, with references to religion, social-climbing, and sexuality.
