Advance Uncorrected Proof copy from 1972 of an important play in Brazilian theatre, reflecting the experience of Black Brazilians at the time, considered an important piece of literature of the African Diaspora at large. Oddly, no edition from Emerson Hall in 1972 seems to have appeared, rather no English translation seems to have come to light until 1978, published instead by Third World Press, thus making this artifact even more curious and special. 11.5" x 4.10" over 46 pages, this copy altogether decent. Well bound and sturdy copy. No marks to the interior, which is somewhat age toned but still clean. Exterior has some creasing and some staining, all mild. Small chip to the front upper corner. Light bump to a few pages in the back at the bottom corner. From the home of a tobacco smoker, so there is a faint smell for the sensitive nose. Still a very nice copy of a rare item.
