INSCRIBED by Jordan on the front free endpaper ("For Yvette Le Roy, Peace and Power to you, June Jordan June 10, 1970"). This was Jordan's second book. Yvette Le Roy, the inscribee, owned Liberty House, a bookshop in Harlem between 1969 and 1979, which offered a place during that decade for a lot of African American authors, probably including June Jordan, to promote their books.
