Hardcover with dustjacket, first printing as stated on copyright page, this edition precedes the British edition and so is the true first printing, brown cloth, book has a few minor flaws: the former owner's name on the first blank page, mild rubbing at the corners and a mild lean to the spine, the binding is tight and the contents are fine, the jacket has a small surface bruise at bottom of spine where a label was removed and has mild edge-wear at the spine-ends, the jacket is clean and pleasing to the eye, the original price (4.50) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, a novel of the South by "one of Broadway's most distinguished actresses".
