Covers June, July & Aug, 1712, scuffing to contemporary calf boards w/gilt motif on spine, front cover partially detached but binding remains firm, marbled end papers, bookplate of one George Godhelp, Ingoldsby, of whom little is known other than the fact that his name appears on the list of subscribers to the Royal Encyclopedia and Dictionary. Toning to end papers, odd bit of foxing, frontis engraving and possibly of the king, printers device featuring engraving of Shakespeare(?). NOT EX-LIB, and bay all appearances a first ed.
