Item description from seller
First edition. 12mo. Gray pictorial paper-covered boards. Binding toned and rubbed most notably on the spine, front pastedown with old glue and paper residue, rear fly with a small soil mark, pages otherwise clean, very good overall. Educator Kate Gordon's copy, with her ink signature on front flyleaf. Considered one of the most successful literary hoaxes of the 20th century, Witter Bynner and Arthur Davison Ficke, under pseudonyms, published a collection of free verse, purporting to be an example of a new school of poetry, "Spectrist Theory," but the poems were in fact mocking the Imagist, Vorticist, and Choirist movements.
