Add to basketQuoting from the cover of the dust jacket: This volume will enchant the lover of lyric poetry by its power, its clarity of image and its singing quality. Beneath the smooth technique of a craftsman, one finds a great beauty of phrase and emotion. It was through the personal interest of Edna St. Vincent Millay that Harold Lewis Cook brought together the representative collection of his work published in this volume. I am pleased to offer: Spell Against Death, Poems by Harold Lewis Cook. This small hard cover book (5 ? x 8 ? inches, 62 pages) was published by Harper & Brothers Publishers, of New York, dated 1933 and the First Edition (so stated). The book is bound in black cloth with gilt titles on cover and spine and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. Please see the photos of the Table of Contents for your further information. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is lightly soiled and shows some edge wear including one ? inch chip at the base of the spine. The hard covers are bright as are the gilt titles, all very presentable. There has been some minor bumping mostly to the bottom of the spine. Inside, the book is unmarked but there is some light foxing to the endpapers, both front & back but fortunately this does not extend into the pages of the book. The interior pages are clean and bright without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
