Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. 144 pp. with engravings on the subject of sport, largely dogs and horses, in text. Text is clean and tight with some foxing and a water stain at gutter affecting the three pp before the title page Page edges gilt. Green cloth boards with gold-stamped devise and title on uppper board are dulled, chipped along hinges, 3" loss of material at head of spine., extremities rubbed with loss of material. harles James Apperley (1777-1843), Welsh sportsman and sporting writer from an English family, and often resident in both countries, better known as Nimrod, the pseudonym under which he published his works on the chase and on the turf, Bookplate of 'The Brook an exclusive Manhattan men's club on front pastedown. Large book.
