St Clair and his band of rebels make daring raids on the English. St Clair falls in love with Flora who joins the rebels. This volume dates from 1883-1910, when Milner and Company were printing in Halifax, Yorkshire. I'm guiessing at a 1st edition as the inventory shows a cloth cover one. Yellowing throughout and an ink scribble on page 17 at the back. Scholars believed that this work was important enough to be preserved and reproduced, which it haas been. This volume is so rare I can't find it listed . It is 13 x 8 x 3 cms. The leather cover is gilt tooled on the spine. It opens with the frontespiece. Which has a tear on the right hand side.There are 384 pages. Pp 192 to 2006 are missing. Page 191 has a top tear with 4 lines missing. The volume ends with an inventory of Milner publications with prices - fascinating reading by themselves. A magic little book to hold in your hands after all this time.
