1993. First edition. 249pp. This is a theological study of the text of St Patrick's pastoral letters and is, in essence, a sustained effort to fill an important gap in the work of Ludwig Bieler. Daniel Conneely realised that Bieler's work is incomplete unless scholarship enables us to study the letters in their textual connection with Scripture, with magisterial pronouncements of the Church in contemporary controversies, and with the writings of the Fathers, enabling us to discern the full theological meaning of the text and to assess it properly. The book is bound in paperback form in the original card covers and is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the covers and a gentle crease across the top front and bottom rear corners. There is a bump with some scraping to the top rear spine corner. The contents are secure and clean with no inscription.
