Not a book but a 10-inch, 33-1/3 rpm, "Long Playing Microgroove" (mono) jazz record, Royal Roost Records RLP 404 "Recorded in Sweden," very-good-plus vinyl in a very-good cardboard jacket with some chipping to edges of said cardboard jacket. In 1951 there were only three jazz clubs in Paris, according to Teddy Reig's jacket notes -- one each featuring Don Byas, Sidney Bechet, and Roy Eldridge -- all three players "with backgrounds of over 15 years on the Jazz Scene." For the newer sounds, clearly, the scene was then in Scandinavia, where at Easter time the Swedes offer "a series of Jazz Concerts in seven major cities. They usually import one or two American jazz musicians depending upon the cost of the artist. This year they honored Stan Getz with an invitation. . . ." These three medleys "recorded in Sweden," presumably before the Muslim "guest workers" decided to start burning the place down, most with Gunnar Johnson on bass and Jack Noren on drums, one with Lars Gullin on Baritone. 1950s jazz. Reduced from $90. Seller Inventory # 005406
