Starmada Compendium

Starmada is a simple (but not simplistic) board game of starship combat, in which players square off in a general attempt to blast each other's fleets into just so much space junk.

While the universe of the Imperial Starmada and its major adversaries is fully detailed in the book, Starmada is much more than just another game, tied down to its own background. Instead, Starmada can be played in just about any science fiction setting you can imagine. There are dozens of optional rules, exotic special equipment items, and menacing weapons that can be used or discarded at your discretion, to create the type of game you want to play!

The long-awaited Compendium puts everything from the rulebook and first three expansions into one 176-page volume. All the weapons, equipment, and rules previously published for Starmada have been dusted off, polished up, and re-arranged into one shockingly-complete book.

But that's not all! It has new stuff, too, like Interdictor Fields, Minesweepers, and guidlines for Solitaire Play.

The Compendium also includes 2 full-color counter sheets, a 17"x22" numbered hexgrid, and a CD-ROM complete with bonus materials and helper applications, including starship designs for the races of our popular Starslayer game.

If you're interested in fleet-to-fleet space combat at all, you owe it to yourself to check out this game. -- The Gaming Outpost (www.gamingoutpost.com), March 21, 2001
