True First Edition [precedes UK 1st] in publisher's green cloth stamped and ruled in gilt on spine and cover with gilt decorations on cover, 24 pages of ads at rear. Scott 41A : Whatmore F26 (6c). New York: Longmans, Green and Co., (1903), 361 pages. Here is a fine copy that a previous owner has pasted his bookplate to the top board and the f.f.e. Also neatly added are a frontispiece and tissue guard. I believe this frontispiece is an illustration removed from a later reprint. Abrasion of removed bookplate on front pastedown.
