Add to basketFirst published in 1944, this is a third impression of 1945. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed and bruised, long closed tear to front jacket, spine slightly browned. Not price clipped (9s 6d), small previous owner's inscriptions to ffep, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 272pp. A novel of the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692. Jane Lane (1905-78), was the pen name of Elaine Kidner Dakers, British historical novelist and biographer distantly related to the Jane Lane who aided Charles II after his defeat at Worcester. She is best known for her books about the Stuart period and 18th century Scotland, written from a Catholic and Royalist perspective. Quite a scarce book.
