First edition (stated) of this uncommon Rilke title, a collection of stories all centered around the theme of God, preceding 'Letters to a Young Poet' by two years. Small bookplate to fpep, heavy fading to board edges, else a VG copy in a VG example of the scarce jacket, with chips to top edge front panel, corners and spine heel, with larger chips to tip of spine; several closed tear to top edge rear panel, with small stain to same, but with price of $2.00 present. Jacket cut about 1/16" too short for book, but a handsome copy overall. Very scarce in any kind of jacket.
