Small quarto, green cloth, gilt titling to spine, 256 pp. One of a special edition printed and bound for the author. This copy with a handwritten letter laid in, by long-time employee of the Augusta National, Bowman Milligan. The author, Clifford Roberts, together with Bobby Jones, was an original planner of Augusta National. Milligan was "The first clubhouse employee to be hired.and we named him our steward." At the time of publication, Milligan had been employed by The National for forty-three years, and during that time "regularly opened the club at 6 A.M. and closed it at 12 P.M., seven days a week for more than twenty years." In the letter, Milligan writes "I was glad to know you got the Book. I los very good friend when Mr. Roberts died, the club don't seem the same without him.If you wanted go to the masters and need tickets let me know." Soiling and smudging to covers, foxing to text block edges, lacking slipcase.
