Illustrated story about a London clerk, Benjamin Sydcup Skivins, who left England to seek his fortune as a farmer in Canada. The book failed to find a publisher when first written in about 1906 by a farmer in Manitoba who had also left England for Canada and never worked as a professional artist. The humorous story is illustrated throughout with drawings in colour and black and white. Small drawing to top board and brown lettering to spine. Slight bumping to spine, foxing to top edges and former owner's label to endpaper, otherwise good copy. Unclipped DJ has some foxing, otherwise good in clear protective cover. Size: 9.25" Tall x 12" Wide.
