Some foxing throughout, heavy to prelims of volume 1. Folding frontispiece and folding map in volume 1 both pretty good with only a minor tear and foxing to each. Nice first edition set. Previously owned by Geo Macmorran, a prominent Wellington educationalist, whose name is on the front e/p of volume 1. Volume 1 - the country and its native inhabitants - their origin, mythology, and manners and customs, social and political Volume 2 - History of the discovery of New Zealand by Europeans.
