Stranger at the Gate by John Hearne, Hardcover, First English Edition (1956). Book in very good condition, in a similar unclipped dust jacket. The book has slight bumping to the top of the spine, a slight lean, and ageing to the page ends. The dust jacket shows general wear, rubbing and ageing, including internally, with a few minor losses to the extremities. The dust jacket is now encased in a removable plastic sleeve. A very nice copy overall for a book of this age. (See pictures). This is the author's second novel, following his first book 'Voices Under the Window', which was critically acclaimed and published in 1955.
