In contemporary full sheep binding, of which the boards remain in decent condition with light edge rubbing and a few small areas of skinning and scuffing to the surfaces. Leather spine is dried and perishing with chipping at crown and vertical cracking. Spine lables missing. Upper board only tenuously attached by one cord. Text block soundly bound and generally clean with expected light toning and a few superficial scattered instances of damp stain, a bit heavier to first and last few leaves. Prior ownership neatly in manuscript to front endpage. One of the first books on the study of the Law to appear in America. A good candidate for rebacking/restoration. Good only thus.
