A very scarce first edition of this ethnological study of the ancient East, with maps and illustrations. First edition. Very scarce work. Illustrated with sixteen plates and two folding maps. Collated complete. A detailed ethnological and anthropological study of the Ancient Near East, with chapters on geography as well as the Mediterraneans, Alpines, Nordics, Finno-Ugrians, Hamites, and Semites. Written by William Hoyt Worrell, an American Professor of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Michigan, specializing in Semitic studies. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
