Stapled blue pictorial wrappers. 8vo. 49pp. Illustrated. Promotional booklet for this Bridgeport, Conn. firm which was an early builder of submarines for the U.S. Navy. The booklet discusses the early years of the firm and the vessels it built including its first sub the "Argonaut" and various vessels built for the Russian navy. The rest of the text promotes engineering uses for the firm's subs including the wrecking business, recovery of cargo, coal pumping, raising sunken vessels, subaqueous tunnel construction, shell, pear, sponge and coral fisheries, gold dredging and much more. The booklet is well-illustrated with many photographs and diagrams. A very good copy with some light soiling and wear to the covers. The text is very good with some light soiling. Scarce.
