Superbly illustrated with 102 fine tinted plates and many text illustrations by John Leighton. The text is in exceptionally fine, tight, clean and fox-free condition, with light age-browning of the blank end papers only. No inscriptions. The handsome binding is contemporary with the printing, being half dark-red leather with gilt title and gilt rules on spine. The binding is in very good condition, with wear to the top and bottom of the spine. Some straining of the front hinge but all hinges very secure.
