Kaufmann, Francis Joseph McCarthy, Robert Stanton, Worley Wong, and many others with photos by Maynard Parker, Roger Sturtevant, Esther Born, Philip Fein, George Haight and others. Back flap of DJ features an ad for "Sunset Homes for Western Living" the cover of which is a Julius Shulman photo of Richard Neutra's Van Cleef Residence which was also featured on the cover of the November 1943 issue of Sunset Magazine. One of the earlier references for modern house design in the United States and the first totally devoted to the Western ranch house style popularized by Cliff May in the pages of Sunset Magazine.
