86 pages, hardcover with dust jacket, 9.5" by 9". Introduction in English and Finnish. Excellent book on Roma (gypsy) life in rural Finland, as captured in previously unpublished photos from the 60's and 70's by Finnish photographer Mikko Savolainen. For decades Savolainen has devoted his work to threatened ethnic and social groups in Finland, Russia, and Eastern Europe, and his work is direct, sensitive, and quietly effective. Handsomely printed and designed, with over 70 full-page plates. Uncommon and in excellent condition save for some loss to the dust jacket in lower left corner.
