Red cloth binding, gilt lettering to front board and spine though gilt very faded on spine; pictorial detail to front board and spine, crest to rear board. Discolouration to spine and to a lesser extent to boards, some marking and a little staining. Clear signs of shelf-wear, slightly bumped and torn corners. Some slackness to binding, a little cracking to front hinge but otherwise holding. Page edges browned, marked and scuffed. The odd mark to page surfaces but generally clean. A little pencil marking to front endpapers and an inked gift inscription but otherwise no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. 297+ pp.
