It gives vigorous portraits of man under stress of supreme command. Part I deals with the German invasion of France under the command of Colonel General von Moltke. Part II concerns Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, Commander in Chief of the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland. Also accounts of the French General Philippe Pétain and German General Erich Ludendorff. Brown stain at front edge of last few pages. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Overall condition VG. In Good- chipped dust wrapper.
