B & W photos and figures; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 290 pages; 1923 Doubleday, Page & Company. HC 1st edition. Soundly bound in publisher's Green quarter cloth backed spine and pale blue paper covered boards with printed paper title label to spine. Cloth crimped with superficial fraying at spine ends. Light soil to cloth board surfaces. Partial split to front endpages in the hinges has been archivally mended with japanese paper tape. Illustrated with b&w photos and figures. The book undertakes a thorough examination of the work of Underwriter's Laboratory in the service of fire and product safety. Includes a number of appendices detailing testing criteria, label and badge certification etc. G++.
