The covers show light wear and small exposed areas at the corners, along with indented spine caps. The binding is square and tight. The interior pages are clean and unmarked.System Identification: Advances and Case Studies, part of the Mathematics in Science & Engineering series (Volume 126), edited by Raman K. Mehra and Dimitri G. Lainiotis, presents a comprehensive examination of theoretical and practical methods for modeling nonlinear systems. The volume explores advanced computational techniques such as operator approximation, non-Lagrange interpolation, low-rank matrix approximation, and hybrid iterative methods. It addresses key challenges in system representation under constraints like causality and memory, and includes studies on optimal data compression and nonlinear filtering. This collection offers valuable insights into systems theory and its applications in areas such as information processing and optimal filtering.The book will be carefully packaged for shipment for protection from the elements. In this book, we study theoretical and practical aspects of computing methods for mathematical modelling of nonlinear systems. A number of computing techniques are considered, such as methods of operator approximation with any given accuracy; operator interpolation techniques including a non-Lagrange interpolation; methods of system representation subject to constraints associated with concepts of causality, memory and stationarity; methods of system representation with an accuracy that is the best within a given class of models; methods of covariance matrix estimation;
methods for low-rank matrix approximations; hybrid methods based on a combination of iterative procedures and best operator approximation; and
methods for information compression and filtering under condition that a filter model should satisfy restrictions associated with causality and different types of memory.
As a result, the book represents a blend of new methods in general computational analysis,
and specific, but also generic, techniques for study of systems theory ant its particular
branches, such as optimal filtering and information compression.
- Best operator approximation,
- Non-Lagrange interpolation,
- Generic Karhunen-Loeve transform
- Generalised low-rank matrix approximation
- Optimal data compression
- Optimal nonlinear filtering

Store description
Alien Bindings is an online bookshop located in Baltimore that has been in operation for nearly 20 years. Alien Bindings caters to the sciences including the physical sciences, astronomy, mathematics, computer science, the social sciences and medicine. I also dabble in a wide array of other categories including antiquarian books and history.
I run a clean, green business. I try to reuse clean materials for packaging whenever possible. For example, books are carefully packaged frequently using clean cardboard for custom made boxes, recycled paper is used for printed labels and recycled plastic or bubble wrap is used for a weather-proof barrier. I drop the packages off to my local post office via foot or cycle in order to further reduce the carbon footprint.
