Spine lettered in gilt. Gilt medal on front cover. A series of 19 papers read before the Kansas Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. Some titles are, "Kansas in 1861", "What I Saw of Rebel Prisons", "In the Ranks at Shiloh", "At Gettysburg with the Sixth Corps", "A Volunteer at the First Bull Run", "Recollections of an aide-de-camp to Sherman". Inscribed and dated on front pastedown by J.T. Taylor, author of the last mentioned paper. MOLLUS was an organization of Union veterans started in April 1865, just after the death of President Lincoln. It was patterned after the Society of Cincinnati established after the Revolutionary War. The organization contines to this day with descendants of the Original Companions. 391pp. Size: Octavo.
