His African estate in shambles, Tarzan goes to Opar to steal more gold. He is accompanied by Jad-bal-jar, a lion he has raised. Part of the story tells of the discovery of a region inhabited by highly intelligent gorillas who have enslaved a humanoid race of very stupid, lethargic blacks.
