First edition. Author's first book. Salmon-colored cloth, brown ink stamped on front panel and spine, blue decorated endpapers, top edges yellow, xi [1], 712 [1] pp., foreword to the reader. Fine in dust jacket with light wear to the extremities. A plantation novel which James Ward Lee in his book Classics of Texas Fiction, says, "pictures the Lone Star state as a part of the Old South. In fact, it might be said that Mrs. Krey's novel bears comparison with Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind." The main difference is that And Tell of Time, is a novel about Reconstruction in Texas and not about the Civil War itself. The main part of the novel focuses on the troubles the cotton planters in Texas had to endure at the hand of the carpetbaggers who came into the state shortly after the Civil War had ended.
