First printing (as stated upon copyright page) WITH CARD SIGNED BY LADY BIRD JOHNSON TAPED TO FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. xxiv, 51 pages. Hardcover: H 22.25cm x L 22cm. Dust jacket lightly rubbed, negligible scuffing at spine head; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Brown cloth with bright gilt stamping to spine and front board. Non-authorial gift inscription on front pastedown. Interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a near fine dust jacket. Taped to front free endpaper is a color pictorial card, H 14cm x L 7.5cm, replicating a portion of the dj's front panel illustration with signed "Lady Bird Johnson" at bottom in brown ink. The book was issued to commemorate the first decade of the Lady Bird Johnson Award for Highway Beautification with an Introduction on pages xv-xxiii by Mrs. Johnson.
